Osan: The Eastern Continent

Osan is the eastern half of what was once Etherea—and the larger of the two continents born from the Split. Where Volaxia consolidated under a single monarchy, Osan fragmented. Its noble houses, unable to agree on a single ruler in the chaos that followed the cataclysm, formed the Council of Lords: a governing body in which no single family holds the throne. This political structure has defined Osan ever since—a continent of regional autonomy, negotiated consensus, and occasionally paralyzing disagreement.

Geographically, Osan is a continent of extremes. The frozen Iron Mountains and the Frozen Wastes dominate the north. A temperate heartland stretches through the center, bisected by the Great Divide—a majestic canyon that cuts across the landscape. The Grand Desert separates north from south like a belt of sand and silence. South of the desert, the Golden Shores bask in warm coastal sun. To the east, the Leafsong Meadows roll in gentle agricultural abundance, and tucked between north and east, the ancient Eldenwood shelters the elven city of Zumora and its renowned school of magic.

This chapter describes Osan’s seven regions, their key settlements and features, and the adventure hooks that make each worth visiting.
