The Deep Ruins
The drowned remains of pre-Split Etherea on the seabed of the Sea of Lament represent the largest unexplored site on Voxana. The Deep Ruins contain structures that predate the two-continent world—temples, power centers, and locations where the Loom was actively manipulated. Some of these sites retain residual metaphysical energy after a thousand years underwater. Where the Weaves thin, the ruins may be partially accessible from the Feyweave or the Echo Weave, creating underwater pocket realms where reality behaves differently.
The Arcanum Divinorum operated across all of Etherea before the war. Some of their sites are now submerged. Whether underwater Arcanum locations contain surviving records, intact artifacts, or sealed vaults is unknown—but the possibility makes the Deep Ruins the most strategically important archaeological discovery on Voxana, if anyone could mount a serious expedition.
The Iron Drift
The massive ice-encased island in the northern Sea of Lament is a fragment of original Etherea blasted north during the Split and frozen in place. Beneath the glacial ice: pre-Split structures perfectly preserved by cold—sealed, intact, and untouched for a thousand years. The lights reported beneath the ice are real. Two dwarven expeditions from Nin’Durahl have attempted exploration; both returned with inconclusive results and crews who refused to discuss what they encountered. A third expedition is being organized with a map fragment from the sealed vault that shows an entrance beneath the ice.
The Iron Drift’s contents are deliberately undefined. It could hold: an intact gate of Erruuth’s prison, a cache of undamaged Arcane Stones, an Arcanum Divinorum vault, pre-Split artifacts of unknown purpose, or something entirely unexpected. The Iron Drift is designed as a high-level campaign destination—remote, dramatically dangerous, and holding answers that change everything.
