This glossary standardizes all proper nouns, place names, and key terms used throughout the sourcebook. When source documents contradict each other on spelling or nomenclature, the forms listed here take precedence.

Term Definition
Arcane Stones Eight artifacts forged during the Divine War, each attuned to a school of magic. Shattered during Erruuth’s banishment. Fragments became Glowstone.
Arcanum Divinorum Secret order of eight mage-clerics, chosen by the gods during the Divine War. Extinct. Legacy: Elder Sage Council.
Crownheart Vale Central region of Volaxia. Contains Runeswick, Sapphire Locke, Duskfall, Guildspire.
Divine Concord The agreement among the Twelve Gods to withdraw from direct mortal interaction. Created the Divine Veil.
Divine Veil Metaphysical barrier between the divine and mortal realms. Created during the Divine Concord. Breached by Erruuth.
Erruuth the Deceiver Also called the Veiled One. Mortal origin (village of Threndor). Caused the Split. Imprisoned via five gates.
Etherea The original single continent of Voxana, before the Split.
Firefly Brigade The adventuring guild based in Guildspire. Ranks: Lantern Bearers, Lightkeepers, Flamewardens, The Radiant.
Fray, The The Loom’s failure point. A tear in reality where broken threads tangle. Home to impossible beings.
Glowstone Also called Jade Glowstone or Jadestone. Shattered Arcane Stone fragments. All green (necrotic corruption from Erruuth). Recently reactivated.
Guildspire Settlement built around the Firefly Brigade’s headquarters. Crownheart Vale, Volaxia. On the Crystal River.
Iron Drift, The Massive ice-encased island in the northern Sea of Lament. Fragment of original Etherea.
Loom, The The primordial metaphysical construct that spins the threads of existence. Not a god. Not sentient. Source of all magic.
Nin’Durahl Dwarven mountain city in the Iron Mountains, Osan. Apostrophe, capital D. Ruled by King Udrek Kegjaw.
Osan Eastern continent. Governed by the Council of Lords. Major cities: Runewick, Nin’Durahl, Wyndmoore, Zumora.
Port Splinter Pirate haven in the Shattered Arch. No formal governance.
Rot, The Fungal phenomenon transforming living things into fungal hybrids. Present in Greenflower (Volaxia) and Nin’Durahl vault (Osan).
Runeswick Capital of Volaxia. Eastern coast. Monarchy under the Keswick family. ‘S’ distinguishes from Runewick.
Runewick Major city on Osan. Western coast. Council of Lords seat. No ‘s’. Twin of Runeswick.
Sea of Lament Formal name for the ocean between Volaxia and Osan. Common name: the Great Sea. Fills the rift caused by the Split.
Shattered Arch, The Chaotic archipelago in the central Sea of Lament. Fragment of Etherea. Contains Port Splinter.
Split, The The catastrophe that tore Etherea into Volaxia and Osan. Caused by Erruuth breaching the Divine Veil. ~1,000 years ago.
Sunstone Temple Hidden Arcanum Divinorum base, now submerged beneath the Grand Desert of Osan. Contains Galmir’s journal and the Sunstone Prism.
Veiled Isles, The Chain of volcanic islands in the Shimmering Gulf. Loom is thin. Volcanic activity has metaphysical component.
Volaxia Western continent. Monarchy under the Keswick family in Runeswick. Major regions: Frostbourne Wilds, Crownheart Vale, Verdant Expanse.
Voxana The world. Created by the Twelve Gods from the Loom.
Wyndmoore Trading village in the Ironbound North, Osan. Largest Glowstone deposit. Bisected by the Jade River.
Zumora Elven city in the Eldenwood, Osan. Home to the Elven Wizarding School. Headed by Elder Sage Oleus Valxido.
