The Land Bridge extends from Volaxia’s Jagged Coast south-southwest for approximately 200 miles. It is a narrow isthmus, 50–100 miles wide, connecting the main continent to the Southern Reaches island chain.

Terrain

The Land Bridge is low, flat, and densely vegetated. Mangrove swamps line both coasts, giving way to tropical forest in the interior. Rainfall is heavy and near-constant. The terrain is passable but slow — expect 10–12 miles per day through thick vegetation with no maintained trails. The isthmus narrows to approximately 50 miles at its southern end before fragmenting into the islands of the Southern Reaches, separated by a 30–50 mile strait.

Reaching the Land Bridge from the settled world requires crossing Volaxia’s entire Wild South — approximately 600 miles of frontier wilderness from the Verdant Expanse through Mystshore Reach. Add 200 miles of Land Bridge to reach the Southern Reaches. Total distance from Harder’s Field to the Threshold Islands: roughly 1,000 miles over land, requiring 2–3 months of travel through increasingly difficult and unmapped terrain.
