South of the Grand Desert, Osan’s character transforms. The Golden Shores are warm, coastal, and vibrant—a region of sandy beaches, fertile inland hills, rich wetlands, and communities that have built their identities around the sea. The climate is pleasant year-round: mild winters, warm summers, and enough rainfall to support both agriculture and natural beauty. If the Ironbound North represents Osan’s resilience, the Golden Shores represent its capacity for joy.
Key Settlements
Tinker Town. A town at the frontier of innovation, settled in a desert-savannah landscape on the northern edge of the Golden Shores. Tinker Town is run by gnome and goblin artificers, and its economy revolves around invention, machinery, and the kind of creative experimentation that produces both breakthroughs and spectacular failures. The annual Innovation Fair and the Gears & Gadgets Parade draw inventors and curious visitors from across Osan. Notable residents include Grizbit, a goblin artificer, and Zinnia Gearsworth, inventor of the Arcane Condenser and the Dune Skimmer.
Whitesand Harbor. A coastal town with pristine beaches and a bustling seafood industry. Whitesand Harbor serves as the Golden Shores’ primary port, handling maritime trade and providing access to the southern sea routes. The Lorian Crab Feast and the Sand Sculpture Competition are beloved local traditions.
Fenwick. A settlement that has achieved something rare: genuine harmony with a hostile landscape. Fenwick’s stilted architecture rises from the surrounding marshlands, and its culture is built on sustainable integration with the wetland ecosystem. Reed harvesting, blue dye production, and guided marshland tours form the backbone of its economy. The mysterious Marshlights—natural luminescent phenomena in the surrounding marsh—are a source of local pride and occasional unease.
Seabreeze. A cultural jewel of the Golden Shores, famous for its vibrant festivals, rich musical traditions, and seafood cuisine. Seabreeze is the kind of town that exists to remind people that civilization is not only about survival—it is also about celebration.
Silvertide Village. A tranquil fishing village where traditions run deep and the sea is revered. Silvertide is small, quiet, and deeply community-oriented. The Silvertide Festival and the Sea Song Night, during which the entire village gathers to sing traditional songs to the sea, are defining cultural events.
Eldan’s Rest. Tucked near the southern coast, Eldan’s Rest is a village where nature and agriculture blend seamlessly. It is a place of retreat and restoration—the kind of settlement that adventurers retire to, or at least dream about retiring to.
Landmarks
The Coral Towers. Ancient underwater ruins visible off the southern coast at low tide. Their origin is unknown—they do not match any post-Split architectural tradition, and their depth suggests they were constructed before the Great Sea existed in its current form. Scholars disagree on whether they are pre-Split ruins submerged by the cataclysm, or something older and stranger.
Adventure Hooks: Golden Shores
An inventor in Tinker Town has built a device that can detect Glowstone at a distance. It works. It also keeps pointing toward something deep beneath the Grand Desert that no one can explain.
The Marshlights of Fenwick have changed color—from their traditional pale blue to a vivid green that matches activated Glowstone. The marshfolk are convinced something has awakened in the wetlands.
A diving expedition to the Coral Towers has surfaced with a sealed container made of an unknown metal. The container is warm to the touch and hums at a frequency that makes nearby Glowstone glow brighter. No one can open it.
